Australian author Peter Carey is one of three writers who won the prestigious Booker Prize twice: Oscar and Lucinda in 1988 and True History of the Kelly Gang in 2001. Of his thirteen novels, several have become successful films, but he’s also a prolific writer of short stores, non-fiction, and penned two screenplays. This is the first of two Writers on the Record interviews with Carey. His second, Parrot and Olivier in America (April 25, 2010) was as entertaining, hilarious, and spirited as the first.
